CHRONIC DISEASE PREVENTION

Are you at risk for chronic health issues?

Do any of the following apply to you?

  • Physical inactivity

  • Unhealthy diet

  • Overweight

  • Tobacco use

  • High cholesterol

  • High blood sugar

  • High blood pressure

  • Family history of chronic illness

If so, you are at risk of developing a chronic health issue. But, there’s hope. Disease can be prevented — that is, people can be protected from actual or potential health threats and their harmful consequences at four different stages:

  • Primary Prevention –  Prevent the occurrence of disease

  • Secondary Prevention – Arrest the progression of disease

  • Tertiary Prevention – Reduce the negative consequences of established disease

  • Quaternary Prevention – Reduce the negative consequences of unnecessary or excessive medical interventions

Whether you’ve already been diagnosed with a chronic disease, or you feel it won’t be long until you are because of your family history and/or the life you are leading, we are here to help.

SPECIALTY AREA:

CHRONIC DISEASE TREATMENT

Have you been diagnosed with a chronic disease?

Most adults in America have a chronic disease— 6 out of 10 of us.

It’s become the norm because our living environment—the types of foods offered to us for purchase and jobs that encourage us to sit—nurture disease, not health.  But there are things we can do to change that.  We have a choice, an active role to play, in how our lives play out.

If you, or someone you love has recently been diagnosed with a chronic  disease, the time to act is now.  Every forkful of food you eat, and every step you take, determine the course of your health, or illness.  Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity and more can be addressed, treated, prevented, and at times even reversed—and it all comes down to these moment by moment behaviors.
